KBB receives grant from International Reading Association
March 18, 2012
Kids’ Books Bolivia received a small grant from the International Reading Association for literacy projects in countries with developing economies. This grant will be used to create educator toolkits for 12 of the books in our collection. We are working with Colectivo Katari to develop activities, suggestions and further teaching resources, allowing educators to use the books as a springboard for deepening understanding and appreciation for the cultural content embedded in the books. Once the kits are published, Colectivo Katari will work with Kids’ Books Bolivia to provide workshops in Cochabamba schools to facilitate the use of these toolkits. Special thanks to Laura Sprinkle, Fall 2011 Alice Rowan Swanson fellow, for her help writing this grant.
